http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=29062 check out this thread. some good stuff here. the manual is great too. spend some time there, and really take the time to mess w. the controls of each channel and be sure to listen w. your ears and not your eyes........

    THD HOT PLATE

is definetly worth a try. I think the hotplate is one of the better attenuators out there. I have been happy with mine. Just be sure you pick the right 'ohm' match for your amp.

    Just scored a Roadster!!!!

Tolkien fan??? Congrats! Most important thing. Read the manual. Then monkey around a bit, and try out some of the 'sample' settings that are in the manual. Then after a day of messing around, Read the Manual again. And also, bypass the loop. see prev. threads on this topic...

Duncan JB Vs. Dimarzio Super Distortion??

For Heavy Rock and Metal, take a look at the Duncan Distortion. I have a DD in one of my guitars and it is a great pickup for that style of music. just my .02

    Roadster Vintage gain mode!!!

Vintage in Ch. 3 is great , esp when you put a Maxon od808 out front. give it a shot. I use it mostly as a 'boost' but occasionally will add a bit of 'gain' gets things just a bit more 'dirty'. fun channel indeed. esp on 50 Watts and spongy.

any Roadster head + Recto 2x12 cab owners?

Yes. Classic Rock, Metal and 80's style Rock/metal. And the 2x12 Recto does it all VERY WELL. So a search and I have a pretty long discription of my decision between the roadster and recto cab w the roadster head. Good luck.

    Favorite OD or Distortion pedals.

been loving the maxon od808 in front of the roadster. yesterday, PRS tremonti into a maxon into the roadster...drop d tuning. Lovely metal goodness....... :D

    Wah... before or after OD????

coming from a point of pure ignorance...if a wah makes a bunch of noise, wouldn't that noise be 'amplified' by a boost/od pedal after the wah? and thanks everyone so far, for your input.

    Wah... before or after OD????

So, picked up a Dunlop KH Wah. Cool wah, like the tone. and it is hardwire bypass. Am using a Maxon OD808 for boost.... So do most of you use the Wah in front of or after the boost pedal in your chain??? Feeding a Roadster btw.

ROADSTER & MESA 4X12 SOUND (NEED HELP)

Sounds like someone is a bit hard of hearing from too much loud ROCK AND ROLL!!!!   I recommend taking a look at some of the settings in the back of the manual and tweaking the settings a bit fromt there. good luck.

    Dual recto roadster distortion

2 things...turn off the fx loop. that makes a HUGE difference. And I really like the od808 out front for heavier 'crisp' tones. Plus, the od808 out front of channel 2, with brit mode and a little gain dialed on the pedal is NICE!

    perfect guitars

    PRS Custom 24, with a wide-thin neck!

Are those 2x12 or 4x12 cabs?

    Which cab for Roadster?

I dig my Recto 2x12. But do a search, there have been many threads on this topic already. good luck with your search.

    Fortuitous Twist o' Fate!!!!

Was messing around with my Roadster this am, before work, playing with tunes and tones. Lately, I have found channel 2 in Brit mode to be pretty fun, and with marked promise, esp with a maxon 808 out front. (808 with OD at 0 and Balance at about 1:30....pretty much how I use the 808 on all...

How do I get more bite out of my Roadster?

you can also try bypassing your effects loop. that made a huge difference for me. I have also just recently picked up an od808, and it certainly sounds great when I engage that. VERY nice chunk!

Would I REALLY benefit from a Maxon OD808 in front?

No OD808. BUT..... there appears to be a Triceritops....and not every jam room has one of those!!!!!
