Anyone Want To Talk Studio Pre?

Yes, I can only agree with you. I have 2 Studio Preamps and 1 Quad preamp. The Studio Pre is my favourite. The clean sound, with a bit of stereo chorus (I use a Yamaha UD-stomp) into a 20/20 or a 295 poweramp is one of the best ever in my opinion. With regards to the lead tone, I like the Mid...

    Red Stripe, Green Stripe???!

Hi Tony, The "striping" on MK3s should be visible near (above) the area where the powercable is attached to your amp. More info on this site. http://homepage.mac.com/mesaboogie/dot.html http://homepage.mac.com/mesaboogie/welcome.html Cheers, -Humphrey

What is the resell value on this head conversion?

Hi Rock-on! Nice cabs you make! What kind of joints and wood do you use? Did you use dovetail joints on the Marshall 18-watt cab? I am thinking of building a replacement cab out of hardwood for the Studio 22+ I recently acquired. We have some great looking hardwood locally. Cheers, Humphrey

Best Rackmount processor for my Boogie

Hi Dutchman, I am a big fan of the Rocktron Intellifex. I have used it for a long time with my Studio Preamp and 20/20 poweramp in a stereo configuration. Guitar -> Studio Pre (mono out) -> (mono in) 20/20 poweramp (stereo out) -> speaker cabs. The Intellifex is listed regularly on ebay...

Does anyone know if Mesa's sold in the USA.....

Correction..... Now I think of it.... My Mark III (short head bought on ebay from an australian owner) has a voltage selector. I am not sure what the "history" of this amp is though. I can't remember if my Caliber .50 I traded a while ago had a similar switch.

Does anyone know if Mesa's sold in the USA.....

I'll check when I get home. I doubt it that I would find any of my Boogie amps had a switchable voltage selector.

Does anyone know if Mesa's sold in the USA.....

Well, that's another alternative... I guess this will void the warranty on your amp after the mod. Where's Sherlock Amps located? Thanks.

Does anyone know if Mesa's sold in the USA.....

You need to use a stepdown transformer if you want to use a US model in Australia. The standard (US) Boogies are 110V.

    Larry Carlton message board

Thanks for the info. I love his work. Especially the Steely Dan and Joni Mitchell era. Very few guitar players have a ""sweeter" sound than Mr 335 in my opinion...

Guitar processors that compliment Mesa amps

Agreed. I had a TC G-Major and still own the Rocktron Intellifex. The Intellifex just sounds more transparent to me. Fact is that the G-Major was (is?) built in Thailand (with cheaper components?) while the more expensive models are still built in Denmark. It's all about what works for you I guess.

    Mark III help (valve help)

Hi. Check out Maarten van Helden's website (Tubefreak). He's got most of Mesa's schematics there: Tubefreak The MKIII is listed there as well. The pictures of the schematics are a bit grainy but you should be able to figure out which tube does what. I recommend you to add his website to your...
