I think the prices have dropped dramatically, but I may be wrong. I bought mine for 850 on sale. But it was 1000 for a long time.

you could just sit down and screw around for an hour or so just finding a bunch of nice tones and writing them down. that's what i did and i got some awesome one's. i should probably find that packet also try the manual settings on mesa's website

welcome to the forums. i was thinking about putting some yj's and some el84's in there myself. the EQ helps but not that much

i was thinking about trying out the sed winged c's el34's. the sd forum says they're really good. i just haven't cared enough to try them out. i might do that next. also some tung sol 12ax7a reissues were reccomended with the SED's. i'm excited

nope, can't say i have. but i like power amp brekup with a nice preamp dist. for my kind of stuff if that helps :D

they get great cleans but you might want to use an eq pedal in the fx loop if you're going to get the 55. which is understandable my nomad is HEAVY! let alone the cab, which is just akward. the nice thing on the nomad is that you can mix in the percentage of fx power on the fx loop. and on...

holy jesus, these things rock! :shock: . i got the 11 version (the store was out of 10's) of this string and i will reccomend them to i might. nice raunchy dist. and a wonderful jazzy/bluesy clean, just like you said. THX MAN!
