    Favorite 2x12 for Mark V?

Personally, I really like the Port City OS 2x12 with V30's in it. To me, it has more depth than the Mesa cab and you can add a slight amount more bass to your sound without it getting flubby. When you record it (close mic), it sounds fuller than the Mesa. Those are my ears though.

    Matching levels between channels

I've read on here that a few other people had had this problem or a similar one. I can't seem to balance channel 1 to channel 2 or 3 without channel 1 becoming slightly distored and hairy sounding. One person if I remember correctly had suggested a tube chance that had semi-corrected this...

Anyone use Port City cabs with your Mark V?

I run my mark V through a Port City 2x12 (regular sized). The poster above me nailed exactly what these cabs do. I've played my amp through and Orange cab and a Mills Accoustic cab, but the Port City had the magic I was going for. I wish I had dropped the extra $$ on the OS now, but even the...

    Let's hear em'. Best/Worst speakers,cabs,combinations

Got to go down to Montgomery this weekend to try my Mark V head with some Port City cabs. 2x12 cab - It was okay. It thrilled me about as much as playing through a Mesa Recto 2x12. It was nice, smooth, big low end. But there was no harshness. 2x12 OS cab - This was the cab that blew me...

OFFICIAL MARK V TONE SETTINGS THREAD

Here are my settings for channels 2 and 3. Both are more for a clear, sustaining tone (my bandmate describes it as an Eric Johnson tone) that has plenty of gain on tap. I've been playing a JP6 with a D-Sonic into amp into an oversized 4x12 with V30's Chan 2 Mark I Thick EQ on (preset to about...

    Finally after so many months...

So after being able to play around with it more today while practicing with my band, I was able to dial it in just a tad bit more and touch up on some settings. CH 1 I rolled the gain back to about 9:00 turned the master up to 4:00 and rolled the bass back to 12:00 CH 2 I rolled the gain...

    EQ Sliders Vs. Preset Knobs

I've done something different on each channel. On Channel 1, I have the extra EQ off. Channel 2, I use the preset knob, and channel 3, I use the sliders that I use in a pretty peculiar fashion. I wrote my review of it over in another thread, so if you want to know my settings, go check it out.

Anybody in Alabama with a mark V yet?

And I just wrote a small book about my first day experiences with it in another thread, so go check it out.

    Finally after so many months...

I got the call today. I dropped everything I was doing and went. I have to say, I'm a little embarrassed though, I was so excited when I got to the store, my hands were shaking so bad, I couldn't do anything with it there. But I finally got it home, and was able to really dig into this amp and...
