Where can I get Mesa-Spec inductors for the GEQ?

For the single 1h inductor, it was like $13, but I think that most of the cost was for shipping.

Where can I get Mesa-Spec inductors for the GEQ?

They actually called me back about 10 minutes ago. It's weird dealing with Mesa - I'm used to dealing with companies who use the phrase "We'll call you right back" to blow you off. I've never had a company actually call me back. And this, friends, is why I own more Mesa amps than any other...

Where can I get Mesa-Spec inductors for the GEQ?

I recently purchased a Mark IV and the 80hz slider doesn't work. I pulled the module, and it turns out that there's an open connection in the 1h inductor - if you squeeze the legs together, you get conduction, but not if you just test without squeezing. So, I need a new 1h inductor, and Mesa...

Anyone here go from III to a IV and regret it?

I have both, and I think that the IV is more usable. It's easier to dial a decent clean because you don't have to balance the two channels. The FX loop is footawitchable. The overall tone is more usable without the GEQ - the III is SUPER mid-heavy, so you've got to scoop it pretty hard. the IV...

How do you get the GEQ module out of a Mark IV?

If it gets that bad, I'll call Mesa to get replacement studs and clip the little bastards off. I'm sure that there's a more elegant solution, though.

How do you get the GEQ module out of a Mark IV?

It's sort of possible to squeeze the heads with pliers - only, there isn't a lot of space and each stud had 4 tabs on it - so if you squeeze 2 together, it squeezes the other two out. I think I'm going to try to get some mini-Zip ties tomorrow and see if I can use those to squeeze the complete...

How do you get the GEQ module out of a Mark IV?

Long story short, I traded some cash and gear for a Mark IV wide combo. The guy I got it from said that there was a problem with the Bass knob on the Lead channel tone stack - that it didn't actually increase the bass, just made the tone loose and farty. I thought that (best case scenario) he...

    Carvin Mesa copy

The Carvin X-series is nothing like the Mark series. They're more like a poorly-voiced Marshall with active EQ. People just think that they're copies because the cosmetics are similar. This is not true.

How much are the different versions of the Mark II worth?

I've got a line on a Mark II, but as of right now I'm not sure what version it is...I think it's a B. I'm sure it's not a IIC+, but how much are the A, B, and C versions worth? And how much does the EQ affect the price? This one doesn't have it, but it's a 100 watt model.

    Inbuilt EQ vs external EQ

Also, it should be noted that the tone stack in a Mark-series amp comes before the distortion, so placing an EQ in front of the amp is a bit redundant. And I should know - I use an EQ pedal in front of ALL of my amps except for my Mark III and Studio Pre.

hi...italian new user question.....nomad vs dual rectifier

It's really up to personal preference - I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the Nomads. People either tend to love them or hate them. As far as being a Rock vs. Metal amp, I haven't heard a Mesa amp yet that doesn't have enough gain to do either. The thing about the Recto series is that...

Groove Tube Rating System Can Produce Power Tube Saturation?

You'll get saturation at lower volumes. But not low volumes at all. The difference is small. Don't expect to be able to crank up your amp in your apartment. Maybe you'll be able to get another half notch on your volume knob if you go from 10 rates tubes to 2 rated tubes, but it won't be...

Mark IV combo to head conversion

You can't put the widebody heads in a rack kit. The short body, however, are designed for this. If you've got a widebody, you could always trade with someone who has a narrow head and then get a rackmount kit. I think going rate used for a rack kit is like $100.

    Mark 3 footswitch.. Custom

This isn't possible using regular footswitches. What you'd need is something that has some small amount of processing ability built-in, like the Marshall TSL footswitch. The problem is that Mesa uses simple short-to-ground switching with latching switches. To have a FS go from, say, clean to...

E-Bay: Mesa Rectoverb Head - Possible Buyer Warning

My favorite line: That's right. This particular amp is THE RICHEST and MOST DYNAMIC Rectoverb ever made. Fact.
