    Rectifier road case, MT Cases

I'm selling the road case I bought for my Dual Rec. I'm keeping the amp, I am just coming to grips with the fact that I don't do the gigging necessary for the case. It's made in the USA by MT Cases, Inc. It has a removeable front and back, and is a live in case. It's in great shape, has...

Curious about the 2010 Dual Rectifier (multi-watt)

I've had mine for about 7 months or so now...no problems whatsoever. It is built well. I had a bias mod done to mine, basically to take control of that aspect of the amp. It does not need it, but does warm the amp up and "opens it up". I like either JJ 6L6GC's or SED 6L6's for it.

Dual Rectifier, 3 channels is driving me insane

Try putting the Decimator in the loop, it's what I do and it works great for me. 8)

    Inspiration!!

+ 1,000......I put the guitar down and do something else I really enjoy. I hang with friends for a night with some beers, go to the movies or go bowling. I also go to the shooting range when the weather is nicer. I purposely get away from it, and when I return everything seems fresh and I...

New tubes on there way from Eurotubes.com

I've ordered tubes from Bob at Eurotubes for a long time. He's always been great, and he's awesome to talk to. He loves amps. He'll tell you every JJ tube under the sun is the best thing since sliced bread, and he's not far off, but I don't agree with everything he says. For example the only...

Picking up a new Dual Rectifier....

I've had my 2010 dual rec for a while now, no issues at all. It rocks.

    Which Les Paul?

I have went through about 10 guitars over the years, from Epiphones and Fenders, to Schecters and Gibsons. I'm down to two...a Gibson Explorer Pro and my Les Paul R9. I was lucky enough when I was thinking of looking for a R9 to walk into my local shop (not GC) and find an absolutely gorgeous...

    Rectifier Bias Mod!!!

after modding have you tried any other tubes? i replaced mine with SED C made a huge difference. I've always been on the fence between JJ6L6's and SED =C= 6L6's.....with the SED's having the slightest edge over ther JJ's for me. After going back and forth with this new dual rec, I've found...

    Rectifier Bias Mod!!!

Hey Jackie...I measure my bias in Milliamps with a bias probe that plugs into my multi-meter. I use either JJ6L6GC or SED=C= 6L6's, which are both 30 watt tubes. This is their max plate dissipation. To get a tube to come out of crossover distortion, usually around the 70% mark is where they...

    Rectifier Bias Mod!!!

Well, I'm not a ninja, although that would be really cool if I was. Also, it must mean because you have over 1000 posts you must be resident expert around here. And because I have 24 I'm an idiot. My apologies. Let's go over some things, shall we? 1. Removing the slave out jack would have...

    Bais question, two different readings.

Ah yes, I did forget to say anything about settings on the amp. Thanks to Dom for bringing that up. It definitely must be biased to settings. For example, mine is biased to bold/rectifier. If I wanted to switch to bold/diode, I'd have to re-bias, otherwise the bias would go through the roof.

    Which tubes?

+1 for Tung Sol reissues in V1...this worked awesome in my Soldano also. I use a Sylvania NOS tube in V2, but have used an assortment there from the Sylvania to EH to NOS GE's and RCA's, and JJECC83's in the remaining sockets. I don't like the JJ's in V1 or V2 though because they are too muddy...

    Rectifier Bias Mod!!!

Whew! Good thing it's my amp and not yours. That way you don't have to worry about it. So don't.

    Bais question, two different readings.

Tubes are in need of replacement. Also, if you're shooting for above 70% of plate dissipation, you should be going well above 30 ma, over 40 if it's a 30 watt 6L6 such as as JJ 6L6GC's. It all depends on your plate voltage of your particular amp, of course, but 30 ma is pretty low and will not...

    Rectifier Bias Mod!!!

Well, Nick @ Dr. Fretgood in Chicago finished my amp ahead of schedule and I picked it up today. The bias mod is awesome, the best way to describe what it did to the Dual Rec would be to say that it "filled it out." It became louder, and the sound just "mixes" great, if that makes sense. The...

Best warm humbucker with a tight sound?

I boycott Dimarzio based on the fact that Larry Dimarzio trademarks things he had nothing to do with inventing. Double creams, anyone? Geez. :x

    New Rectifier Manual

^^^^^^This is one of many reasons I walked out with my new Dual....the sales guy left me alone, allowing me to do what I pleased with the amp. I played it for about 2 hours, and the only times he came back was to make sure I didn't have any questions. It helped make the decision easy.
