If I wanted to move my Mk IIA (regular mounting) to my MkIV cab (with the little shock mount cups) is it a direct swap or not?

Thank you!

Stephen

It is NOT a direct swap. Somewhere during the MkIIB era the chassis bolt hole pattern was narrowed slightly side to side. The chassis will slide into the newer cabs, but will not fasten with the mounting screws. :( Sorry for the buzz kill.

Ok...how about other later marks that are non shock mounted, will they go directly?

Sorry for dredging up an old thread.

Would a mark III head (short head) chassis fit into a Mark IV combo (compact, short width) enclosure? like would the screw spacing line up correctly and all that?

OK -And would a MKIIA go exactly in a MKIII hardwood cab ? Or is there again a matter of screw spacing ?

Thanks for your reply...

My Mark III, center to center between the chassis mounting screws:

Front to back: 5 3/8 inches.

Side to side: 15 3/4 inches.

The two mounting holes closest to the rear of the cab are 2 3/8 inches from screw center to the edge of the rear of the cabinet.

Hope this helps.
