So what does a recording recto's clean sound like?!

Very cool. Can you get is sounding like a Mark I? When you say a 5751 in the v1 do you mean on the drive channel or doing the standard v1 and the cascading stages keeps tamed to a hard rockin' machine vs. metal?

So what does a recording recto's clean sound like?!

Thanks, CoG! Those clips sounded really good! Question - now tell me about the OD channel, please. I'm a big fan of low gain OD which the LSC had but I didn't like the tone. What does the RR offer?

So what does a recording recto's clean sound like?!

Hey gang... It's been a while. I'm looking to do some recording and cannot get the tones I like thru a POD unit. So, now I'm thinking the Recording Recto may be my best option! I cannot find one locally so please tell me, what does the clean channel sound like? - thin but cutting? - fat and...

Lone Star Classic: Why is Channel 1 noisier than Channel 2?

Need more info... What are your knobs set to? Is there anything in the loop When the "hum went away" was it for both channels? If I were you I'd try replacing V2 and V4 (I think it's V4 that is the driver for the loop if not whatever that is) and see what happens.

FS: Lonestar Classic & quad of MB STR440 6L6s new in box

Would consider shipping but would only feel comfortable doing so in 2 boxes: chasis & cabinet. This will likely increase shipping costs but if this interests you please let me know.

FS: Lonestar Classic & quad of MB STR440 6L6s new in box

Asking $1300 but price is negotiable. For sale is a Mesa Lonestar 1x12 combo in like new condition. It was purchased in October of 2005 and has less than 100 hours on it total about 50 of which are on the original tubes. It's too heavy of a combo for me to lug around due to a neck and back...

Lonestar Classic (50w set on both channels - 4OHMS or 8OHMS?

My ears are pretty good and I couldn't hear a difference at all. If there was some slight EQ difference it was nothing that turning a few knobs couldn't accomplish on the tonestack.

    What Would You Do?

IMO, stay away from any multi-fx unless you are comfortable with the limitations. I own 2 PODs and love the simplicity which overcomes the sound being less than ideal in certain situations. That said, I'd go for a GCX and switcher and keep it all in a rack behind you.

Anyone put tiltback legs on a Mesa?

Follow-up post.... After almost a year, the Gruven amp stand has performed flawlessly and was a great purchase! Thanks again for the advice!

what could have happened?? (Rectifier Problem)

Check your block diagram. If you have a loop it may be buffered by a tube (half for each side)/. If that's the case I'd swap that tube with the one in your PI slot and bypass the loop if possible.

Anyone running a 2x12 that should be horizontal, vertical?

Thanks all! Well looks like it's best not too. I'm looking for the short head so that it wouldn't stick out. The reason for running it like that was to save stage space and to hear myself easier.

what could have happened?? (Rectifier Problem)

I'm no expert but judging by your description of "chorusy phazy sounds " I'd suggest popping in a new 12ax7 into your PI slot.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Anyone running a 2x12 that should be horizontal, vertical?

Okay, one more... Would you trust the stability of this: LSC 23" head 6U rack 2x12 LS cab placed vertically So that would be stack one on top of the other. Seems like a solid tower but what are your experiences?
