    Left the recto... what next?

Hi Martin, looks like I need the 'hum trimmer' replaced, as well as all the power valves. They've also recommended I get the pre amp valves changed while I'm at it! Just calling an amp tech now to find out how much this is going to set me back! While the sound is just what I've been looking...

    Left the recto... what next?

I ended up getting a really good deal on a Diezel VH4 with 6L6's. Sounds a lot better than the recto at low volumes (which neither of these amps were made for I know, but it's always a bonus). There is a lot more noise at higher volumes than the Mesa, but picking up a NS-2 later this week...

    Left the recto... what next?

Thanks for all the replies! My concern with the Mark V is that they have a reputation (or it is my understanding) that they have a much thinner, cutting tone than the recto series. Is this something I should be worried about? Will I be able to get it to fill out the sound as much as something...

    Left the recto... what next?

Hi. I'm hoping you can help me decide which amp is right for me. I've been using a 3 channel triple recto since 2004 and have finally let it go. I always found myself fighting the sound and being constantly disappointed with the tone. It's almost though I enjoyed listening to others play through...

VGC JCM 900 SLX 2100 For Trade, London, UK

Hi, I have a 2100 JCM900 SLX with 5881 valves, great condition, owned for a few years. Hasn't been gigged sine I've owned it as it's been a backup amp for my Triple Recto. Looking to trade it for something else, possibly a 5150 or another high gain amp. Can pick up/deliver within...

Dual Head Flightcase & Amp Head switcher Headbone London

Nearly new dual head live in flightcase. Used to record an album, no gigs or tours. Small mark on front but otherwise in perfect condition. Foam cut to fit Mesa Triple Recto and JCM900 SLX but can be resized for any heads. Also comes with 4U rack space above and pull out drawer next to rack...

Rectifier effects loop and MXR delay pedals...

Yep, great information there. Thank you very much, tried the DD-3 again and it sounds great through the loop! Much better than the digital alternatives. Looks like you have definitely saved me from having to mod my loop! Thanks

    Using rectifier as power amp

Well, my manual definately says channel 2 or 3, raw or vintage although modern is usable. Thanks for that 94Tremoverb, what exactly do you mean by leaving it unstable? Thanks

Mesa Triple Rectifier 3 Channel for trade. London

Hi, have a 2007/2008 Mesa 3 channel Triple Rectifier in mint condition, almost unused. Maybe gigged a couple of times but always housed in a dual head flightcase, other than that its never really left my studio as I have been using a Marshall rack and 900 SLX live. I dont want to sell it, so...

    Using rectifier as power amp

Does anyone know why Mesa recommend to use the Vintage or Raw settings when using the Rectifier as a power amp? Also, why doesn't the presence control work on the Modern setting if used as a power amp? I always assumed that the presence control works on the power section of the amp. Thanks.

Rectifier effects loop and MXR delay pedals...

Hi, I've noticed in a few posts recently that people are recommending analog delays through the parallel loop on a recto over the digital kind if you dont want to get your loop modded. In the past I have used a Boss DD-3, G Major, GSP1101 and Pod X3 through the loop for my delay, but have...

Recto owners: try this if you haven't yet!!

Just tried turning off the presence. Sounds ALOT better, will definitley be using this setting. I find anywhere between off and 8o'clock sounds really good. Running my TR with Bold/Diode Master, Loop on, 10 o'clock, Pres 8, Treb 12, Mid 11, Bass 2, Gain 1 and obviously Output to whatever I need...

4 cable method boss gt8 w/roadster head... amazing!!!!

The whole point of using the 4 cable method IS TO USE YOUR OWN PRE AMP (roadster or whatever) and not the on board pre amp models. This lets us place the effects where we think usually sounds best. Why would you ever use 4 cables if you were going to bypass the preamp on your amp? It'd just be...

switching channels on 2 single rec`s at same time? Possible?

Channel thru jack? Are you sure? Do you mean you link the external switching jacks from the amps together? Is it actually safe to do this? Would be great if someone could clear this up for me as I would love to try that.

how do you set your recto?

I have never heard of this band. I'll look them up on youtube!

how do you set your recto?

Its a parallel loop. You can not set it to 100%. 90% is as wet as it gets!

how do you set your recto?

I find the tone is fuller and less fizzy. Maybe its just me, I dont know. Its actually pretty annoying as I would like to use delay in its loop but the amount of tone that is sucked through that horrible loop is too much. I think when I eventually get round to getting the loop modded to series...

how do you set your recto?

I bypass the loop so setting the master to 12 o'clock is much louder than any rehearsal rooms can take. Even sound engineers up to 700+ usually find that amount of volume unacceptable. I find 10 o'clock on my Triple I can usually get away with without too many sound man problems and I think...
