    Favorite speaker with Mark III?

I use a 2x12 with Celestioin Lynchback speakers. They are amaxing! Rated at 50Watts each they are like a hybrid of a Vintage 30 and a greenback. The retain the low end a power handling of the V30, but have the smooth midrange and top end of greenbacks. Definitely not as harsh sounding as V30s...

I replaced all tubes and that didnt help. Its now in with a tech for a full re-cap (with R2 mod and adding...

Buying tubes for a Mark IV

I have Svetlana Winged =C= in both my amps. One is a Marshall JVM and the second is a 89' Mark III green stripe. They sound good in the Marshall. But in the Mark III... I was blown away! They sound amazing! Tight bottom end, great highs and sweet mids! They are a very musical sounding tube...

    Grounding??

I have a constant hum with my Mark III. Was wondering if some one could explain, or even better show me what the grounding should look like. There is a wire going from the back from one of the screws on the black metal grill/radiator type thing (RH side next simul class-class A switch) which...

    Mark III Re-tube

Thanks guys! Im gonna have a look out for the RFT tube. This may be a stupid question but how do you know which tube is what. From the manual it says V1 is the covered one. Does it just go V1-V2-V3-V4 (left to right form the front of the amp) and V5 between them and the power tubes. Also is V1...

Mesa Mark III Green Stripe (Pics Added)

Okay I’ve done some investigating... I tried swapping out pre amp tubes one by one with some Marshall (not great I know) tubes lying around. None of them made any different to the hum. The only one that made things slightly better was the swapping the 3rd tube from the left... Other than the...
