No sound from amp post Tube Overhaul

turns out swapping V1 worked ..at least a little bit.. now I have microphonic noise in ALL three channels (microphonic noise is NOT present when I select the fx loop - but I get no gain/distortion /unable to push it to clipping in any of the channels) The tap test has failed me so far..I can't...

No sound from amp post Tube Overhaul

Hello boogie heads, After having had my Mark V for nearly 3 years now, I decided to swap out all power amp and pre amp tubes with OEM 6L6's and 12AX7's and the rectifier tube (overhaul of all tubes) After the swap, i hooked everything back up together (I have a Boss GT 10 sitting in the FX...

    Considering a Mark V

I hope you've already picked up your Mark V and still not considering picking it up! Its a no brainer man...its so versatile ...as long as you treat them right (on the road or at the studio) and it hasn't given me any problems in 1.5 years. A few bad tubes here and there is all you'll come...

At lower volume, EQ Preset sounds better Ch3

At bedroom jam volumes, I find the Mark V responds beautifully and very close to John Petrucci's live sound when I use the Preset Eq toggle with the preset eq knob at noon or one o clock in Channel 3. Almost impossible to dial that full tone in using the V shape on the EQ..but the preset knob...

MARK V struggling to come to back to life...

It was the one two to the left of the v1/v2 that are arranged perpendicular to the back face..must be v4? However - I'm not sure if indeed there was a loose connection somewhere..(although I checked for it)..because it didn't explain the loss of sound in the 90W channel 3 mode (solid state...

MARK V struggling to come to back to life...

switched on the Mark V after almost a week...and I could hear no sound...channel 1, channel 2, channel 3 - all three wattage modes...continued to flip the switches in hopes of coaxing the Mark V back to life...no luck... After about 2 minutes, the amp comes back to life..for a second or...

    Effects send level question

It very much affects what you mentioned...from my observation over the past one year. A couple of suggestions... Roll back the fx send level loop on the Mark V to either 10 o clock or 11 o clock position...no lower than 10. Push the channel volume up higher (between 11 and 1 o clock), reduce...

Anybody getting any mileage out of 10-watt modes?

Use the 10W mode quite a bit especially when I'm recording via Slave out into the DAW. I get a better recording at lower volumes. Having said that - there is no replacement for the full tone that you get at 90W ..for recording or playing..period:)

    Power Conditioner and Speaker Simulator

If buying a power conditioner (Furman - Monster etc) is too much of a hassle...then you can even connect it to a good UPS of sorts - like the APC with enough VA rating. Acts the same way like a power conditioner. Since the output is essentially isolated from the input (power line), you get good...

MultiFX processors with the Mark V

borrowing the conversation from a parallel thread... I realize that my current level on the Boss GT10 is set to -10dB....and not +4dB. However I have a feeling if I raise it to +4 tonight..its going sound real sloppy. My chain: Guitar->Shure Wireless->Mesa Mark V (with Boss GT10 in FX loop) ->...

MultiFX processors with the Mark V

I've tried level matching as well - across all the stages / fx that are on (and using a flat cut EQ on any effects so as not to modify the tone). I suppose its finally going to boil down to matching the send/fx and volume knobs in a few places..what are your send/receive levels like and on the...

MultiFX processors with the Mark V

Thanks MusicManJP6 ..good to know that someone else went through the same thing with a similar MultiFX proc. hmmm........

MultiFX processors with the Mark V

Anyone using Line 6 / Boss / TC Electronic MultiFX pedals with the Mark V? I'm using a BOSS GT10 in the fx loop and I thought I had found a way to compensate for the loss in tone and harmonics and the attack by engaging the FX1 (Advanced Compressor: Boss CS3) in the fx loop - but it's not the...
