At lower volume, EQ Preset sounds better Ch3

At bedroom jam volumes, I find the Mark V responds beautifully and very close to John Petrucci's live sound when I use the Preset Eq toggle with the preset eq knob at noon or one o clock in Channel 3. Almost impossible to dial that full tone in using the V shape on the EQ..but the preset knob set at noon is supposedly a moderate V scoop..

The above held true for 45 W and 90W full power Pentode in channel 3. I don't need to push the amp to get the full tone any more. 10 W sounds quite scooped none the less.

weird..but it works better for me when I'm not jamming with a band.

CH3 was always my issue with the V - until I switched back to 6L6's when it all made sense. I now find the preset EQ adds a natural smoothing quality to the settings at low volume, which I did not get with EL34s
