    Mesa PCB Soldering Tips

I am preparing to restore a heavily mutilated Dual Rectifier head. It will be necessary to replace some components on the main PCB, and I do not want to damage any traces or lift any solder pads. My soldering tool is a Weller WLC100 station. I have lots of experience building and repairing...

    Best Recto Tubes STR 425

I just scored a great looking 2005 Triple Rectifier 3ch head in custom black rhino covering with gold cloth front panel. Very low hours on it, the previous owner didn't play much. At first I was disappointed with the tone; it sounded kinda bland and one dimensional. This afternoon, I removed...

    2ch Dual Rec malfunction?

A local music shop has an early 2ch Dual Rec for a good price. I tried it out and noticed the green 'clean' LED illuminates whenever the red channel is active. This happens even with channel cloning switch set to Normal. Doesn't seem right to me.

Hi, Which year did they change over from LDR to relay switching in the Dual Rectifier Solo heads? Thx

Gain Pot Value: 2ch vs. 3ch

According to the schematics, earlier 2ch solo heads have 1 Meg gain pots. The 3ch model has 250K gain pots in the overdrive channels. Maybe this is a big reason why many of the 2ch solo heads sound different in comparison to the 3ch amp.

    Need to buy STR-430 type

What is the STR-430? I know that it's Russian-made. Some of the Sovtek 6L6 types have large oval plate holes. The STR-430 has small round plate holes. I'm guessing the STR-430 might be the Sovtek 6L6WXT+ or maybe the 6L6EH? Whatever it may be, I like the tone and need to buy a matched quad...

Recto 2x12 Horizontal -- Like New

Prefer local NOVA/DC/MD sale. Mesa Recto 2x12 Horizontal cab. Black/grey color scheme. Vintage 30s. Like new, flawless, smoke-free. Never gigged, never been cranked. I purchased it brand new in the sealed box, factory fresh from GC in March 2006, so it was never a dealer demo/floor model...

    Recto Cab Discontinued/Changed?

Mesa has discontinued the Rectifier 4x12 with the straight sides and slanted baffle. The straight-sided oversize cabs have straight baffles now. I really prefer the original design with the slanted baffle. Also, the new 4x12 cabs are rated at 240 watts. They used to be 280 watts. What is...
