Have you tried just a little spit on the glue and rubbing it off with your thumb? Sounds a little gross, but its worked on everything thats ever been stuck to anything for me. Sounds like a power tube went out. Could of taken a grid resistor with it, which would be a very easy fix.

Youll reach the max watts of your amp when its turned up all the way. And I remember reading that with Mesa at that point you are probably pushing more than what its rated at. So as long as youre not cranking it too much, you should be fine.
