    Need help playing live...

Hey, that's my old amp! Hope your liking it and it's too bad your having trouble sitting in the mix. Just after glancing at your settings (and sense I sold you that head and cab I may be able to provide some insight) you might not realize how ice picky your sound really is. Do a test... leave...

Mark V 112 Combo vs Roadster 212 Combo

I would never own a Roadster 2x12 Combo. That has got to be one of the heaviest amps on the planet.

Still struggling with harsh frequencies I can't dial out...

Do you own a Mark V??? So you are saying that swapping in Winged C EL34's and Tungsol Reissue 12AX7's in all slots will take out the harshness?

I have leads on two V's

My head might be for sale...

Still struggling with harsh frequencies I can't dial out...

    I run a 2x12 Recto horizontal with V30's.

Still struggling with harsh frequencies I can't dial out...

without getting muddy or loosing definition. I have been hearing alot about EL34's but I love CH1. And CH2 is really coming together too. Also, I really like 6L6's. Without them, I feel like the bass dissapears. And this amp doesn't have any bass to spare. It's just CH3 I can't seem to...

CH3... Using 45 watt mode to get "the tone" at lower volume

Thank you for answering my initial question. Good point. The 90 watt is fuller and ballsier. So I guess it's a trade off.

CH3... Using 45 watt mode to get "the tone" at lower volume

Do you ever add anything constructive to a thread?

CH3... Using 45 watt mode to get "the tone" at lower volume

Not sure if I can trust what you are saying because your first sentance is flat wrong...

CH3... Using 45 watt mode to get "the tone" at lower volume

I have considered variac but I cannot use 10 watt and variac is too soft. In CH3 I like tight, bold high gain sounds. That is what I was saying in my OP. And I dont want "low, low volume". I just want what I said in my OP.

CH3... Using 45 watt mode to get "the tone" at lower volume

Seriously??? You give me a hard time and tell me to read the manual (I have read the manual cover to cover and I dont remember if CH3 in 45 watt is pentode or triode, tube or silicon diode) instead of just answering the question. I always use the graphic EQ in CH3. And I am well aware that...

CH3... Using 45 watt mode to get "the tone" at lower volume

I think I have CH1 and CH2 pretty much figured out after owning the Mark V for 1 year. But CH3 still gives me some trouble. I'm constantly tweaking. I cant get enough low end without the tone getting flubby. I cant get enough high end without the tone getting harsh. I have a much easier...

    Mark V dislike

I cant imagine breaking 2 preamp tubes trying to replace V1. You are either careless or very unlucky. As far as the longer you own it, the more you hate it... I feel the exact opposite. I didn't like it at first and the longer I own it, the more I love it. For instance, I just found a great...

What OD pedal to run with the Mark V? (OCD?)

The guy is asking about a boost as in boosting the front end. Why do you guys keep saying to use the SOLO??? The Suhr Koko is awesome. Or you could get a Tube Screamer type. There are a few different options as far as Tube Screamers. The Maxon is great as are the boutique options (Keeley...

Anyone using the 212 vertical rectifier cab?

I absolutely LOVE my horizontal 2x12 Recto. I chose it over the vertical due to the reviews. Most people were saying that the vertical looks better and is more convenient as far as getting the head up to an easier access height but tone wise the horizontal had better reviews. It's supposed to...
