Should I use the Slave Out?

Well i love the sound of my 212 roadster combo but i find when i add the 2x12 extension it just isn't as nice. On its own i've got the speakers at 8 ohm, with the extension its using the 2 4 ohms. Would i be better off using the slave out to my other amp head or a power amp and run that in the cabinet? Anyone using the slave out at all?

I just started slaving my ROV into an old 1oo watt Ampeg V4, running the Mesa with the combo speaker, and the Ampeg running into a Basson 2x12.
It's pretty wicked. 8)

I have a mesa studio 22+ with a fender satellite in the effects loop. i hook the direct out to the effect send on a mark IIA 60w combo. It sounds fantastic!!!!
