Series/Parallel wiring options

So what's the general consensus on series/parallel wiring options for pickups. I've been thinking about wiring options lately. I like having the coil splitting option but I'm wondering if series/parallel switching is a nice feature or something that just never gets used. Any opinions anyone?

I love mine & my favorite setting is position #2 where the neck-ward coils of each pickup is wired in parallel - Sweetness.
