no sound when fx loop on

the higher i turn up the effects loop mix on my single recto, the lower the overall sound gets (and no effected sound is mixed in whatsoever).

When mix is up as high as it can go there is no sound from the amp.

When I have the mix down as low as possible the sound from the amp is nice and loud the way it should be.

Any ideas of what could be the cause of this problem?

There is a tube that controls the loop....maybe it went bad?

Have you checked the output of the effects running to your loop? Also do you have the channel selected on the to allow the effects on that channel?

yes channels are ok,
also I think I tried switching that tube out (a while ago I had a bad preamp tube and changed them all) so I don't think that is it... however that is the most likely so I will give that a try again...

They are very hard on loop tubes. I have had many go bad and stop the signal. On the old ones, it would stop the whole signal.
