I checked the manual for this, but didn't see this scenario exactly, so thought I'd ask the group:

I'm running my LSS head into the Mesa Lone Star 1x12 cab (an 8 Ohm cab).
I've also got an Epiphone 1x12 (16 Ohm) and was thinking of using it together with the Mesa cab.
I know using both would result in a 5.33 Ohm load.
Assuming I use the 4 Ohm speaker out, am I doing any damage by adding that speaker?
(The Mesa cab has an out jack, so I'd just connect the Epi cab there.)

Only playing at home at volume next-door neighbors (house) can't hear, for about 2 hours at a time if that matters.

I like the idea of two speakers instead of just one and would love to use the stuff I already own, but obviously it's not worth hurting the amp. Your thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I think you want the #7 scenario on Page 28 of the manual:
The 8 ohm speaker from the 4 ohm jack, and the 16 ohm speaker from the 8 ohm jack.
Not sure how this is different from daisy-chaining the two cabs, though.

@mrmarkIII:
Dude! That's definitely what I want to do. Feeling stupid that I missed it.
I think the whole daisy-chaining thing threw me off.
Looks like I can just go straight from the head to each cab with no worries.
Thanks for pointing it out.
