4th of July weekend gig coming up and I plan to bring my Mark IV combo, but being that the gig is outdoors with 2 drummers (yup), I'm thinking of bringing along my 4x12 Mesa cab. I'd like to use both; the cab behind me and also the 1x12 combo speaker facing me on a slanted stand as a monitor so-to-speak.

Can I do this without any damage? I'm not sure if the correct way to go about this is to use both 4 ohm out option, rather than the 8 ohm for the combo speaker, and speaker outs to 4 ohm. A tad confused on how to run both the combo with internal speaker, as well the 4x12 cab in unison.

You got it. Each 8 ohm speaker/cab into the 4 ohm outputs of the amp.

You only use the 8 ohm output when using one 8 ohm speaker/cab.
