Hey there. There is a guy around here with a Mesa Mark II head for sale. I'm told it is a Mark IIB. There is no stripe above the power cable, and it has serial number in the 10,000 range. It is 60 watt and has the graphic EQ. I'm also told it is not simul class.

What would be the value for this thing?? Any ideas would be great.

Thanks everyone!!

Simul-Class amps have four power tubes, 60 watters have two. AFAIK, only Mark IIIs have stripes above the A/C cable.
Worth would depend a lot on condition. Is it clean? Dirty amps are evidence of poor care. Torn tolex, rusty transformers, missing/broken knobs, switches, etc., are a minus. Extra stuff like covers and foot switches, especially originals, would be a plus. All original in just OK shape, however, is usually worth more than an amp in better shape but heavily modded.
If the amp has been in a closet for twenty years, it's more likely to need a maintenance replacement of a number of capacitors, as they actually deteriorate from non-use. Power tubes (NOT pre-amp tubes) do wear out over time if used extensively. But, some old tubes, like the Boogie STR-415s, can bring $50-100 each.

This amp appears to be all original and in great shape. All the knobs are there and tolex looks good. It is the 60 watt version with 2 tubes. What do you think is a fair price for something like this??

On eBay, a combo in fair condition with EV went for $529 USD, while a head with a cover in excellent shape got $700 USD. Neither had foot switches.
