Going with a new tube set on MKV

My understanding is the JP uses Mark V's mainly for his clean channels and Road Kings and now a triple rectifier along with Mark Morton from Lamb of God using Triple Rectos now for distortion. Hmmm wonder why!!!

    Bad-sounding mark 5: tube-issue?

I have to agree with the first post, this amp sounds thin and nothing compared to a dual/triple or roadking mesa head. I worked on it all day trying all diff effects, front of head, fx loop etc. Clean channels sounds good, but sounds as good as all my other tube heads. Channel two and three...

Anyone using an OD with their MV?

Ok, heres my deal. Been playing for over 20 years. Just got the New Mark V delivered. Plugged into my Mesa Recto 4x 12 cabinet. NO effects used at first, the amp really sounds thin to me, no matter what I do, Ive used Marshall jcms, and Mesa triple rectifiers, but to me, I was not impressed with...

    Mark V fx Loop question

Ok is the New Mark V fx loop a series fx loop or parallel? And is it like the crappy Mesa Triple rectifier clean channel where no matter what you plug into the efx loop jacks, the volume on the clean channel drops by half??? Thanks

3 channel Triple Rectifier Loop Mod.(Parallel to Series)

You figure as much as you spend on these heads, Mesa should recall all triple rectofiers to fix the volume loss when using the effects loop, especially when on the green clean channel, so noticable.

Might have a problem with my fx loop.

Just letting you know its not the tubes, been there done that, Mesa really messed up on the recto Fx loops, I even called Mesa, they sent me a tube, but it wasnt the tube, the insist its a patch cable or some effect unit, but its not, its the design of the head. Ive even patched a patch cable...

    Triple Rectifier Clean Channel Sucks!!!!

Ok sitll have the same issue, so Now I switched to using my JCM2000 Marshall Head wich blows the Mesa Triple Recto out of the water when it comes to the clean channel. I get that fat warm clean channel and its just as loud as my other channels. When playing in a band sometime I need just a...

    MESA guitar head for bass?

Hey I just saw Robert Trujillos bass rig online, it states he uses two svt 2 pro's and two Mesa Guitar Heads. Does anyone or has anyone ever used a Mesa Gutiar head for there bass? Is this possible? Will it work, running your bass thru say a triple recto guitar head and into a bass cabinet?

Cleans on a Dual Recto 3ch

I have the same issue with my Triple Recto head. I dont agree that you should have to run the green channel so hi up to get it to sound the same as far as volume. I play my amp loud live, but when you use the green channel for green, I have to crank it up and it still does not match the other...

    Triple Rectifier Clean Channel Sucks!!!!

Ok, Ive called Mesa and they sent me new preamp tubes to replace other ones, This amp is brand new. When using the FX Loop, or anything plugged into the Loop, my clean channel volume drops about to 1/2 of what it was without using the FX loop, no matter what the settings are, the other channels...

i can't hear a clean sound at low volume!!?

ok at all my master set at 12 noon, that means every channel volume set at 12 noon and FX loop on. output at about 1/4 up. Also all gain set about the same 1 pm. All channels are same output with the exception of the clean channel. It is so super low I almost have to crank the Master volume to...

That was funny, spider with a flaming brick,, good one!! **** the mesa's sound good with out all the extra stuff, no need for it, and I agree 80's 90's tone was Metalica, not this flat, no sustain crap they play now. 2 channel triple rectifier footswitch

I have the old footswitch for the two channel triple rectifier, and after I opened it up... I cancelled my order for a new one, isnt worth $59.00 from mesa. You can build you own, like he said any single foot switch will work.

    Mesa 6L6GC STR-454

Ok so I purchased six Sovtek 6L6WXT+ as recommended for my older mesa triple rectifier dual channel. I stuck them in and run the head thru a Marshall 1960 vintage cabinet, it has Vintage 30's in it. First let me tell you it sounds amazing!! Very quiet and incredable low end punch. I recommend...

Your tricks for a SICK lead tone?

So where does the compressor pedal go in the chain? Should it be the first pedal that the guitar hits after the tuner? And should it go straight into the head vice the effects loop?
