I have a few higher-gain recordings I made with my Hellraiser 6 (mahogany body + EMG 81) through my Mark IV: Holy Diver Judas Kiss I think they do just fine, though I personally prefer Dimarzios.

The solution is obvious: you're supposed to buy two of them. ;)

They're detailed on Mesa's product page. I've never heard of them referred to as a "Mark" cabinet (though they fit the Mark's width much better than the Recto's).

I usually can get pretty close to the SFAM tone with my Mark IV; however, I'm using Dimarzio-equipped basswood guitars. The Gibson pickups have a very different voicing.

I liked the tone, though it definitely sounded more Petrucci than Satch (probably due to the guitar); Satch's tone seems a bit rounder—and less tube-like, to be honest... I actually preferred your tone. :) Good job on all the string bending... you have great bend + vibrato technique!

$500 total or apiece? I've been extremely pleased with my Dynaudio BM5A's. I A/B'd them with the TR-8s when I bought them, and while the Dynaudios had less bass than the Events, the Dynaoudios seemed less fatiguing and neutral.

The essence is there... wish you had a more full-range recording setup, as the camera mic really doesn't do justice (no pun intended). ;) GREAT playing, BTW.

Excellent! The songs are not my preferred style at all, but I really appreciate the great job you did recording them (it also helps that your songwriting skills are very solid). The Mark IV actually fits in perfectly.

I've found the fx-loop attenuation method (also via my G-Major) to work very well indeed. I play more high-gain stuff, though, so I don't need power-amp saturation. The 2x12 Recto cab sounds a lot more full than a 1x12. You might think about getting a 2x12. Heh, these days Petrucci could...
