    Mark IIC++ Hetfield mod

Maybe your amps were different, but the two 2C++ heads I own have a ton of gain. More than my stock Mark III (not my Coli Mark III++) and more than the Mark V:25 and JP2C. The ++ mod also tightened up the amp a lot as well. I much prefer the ++ mod of a stock 2C+.

    IIC+ Power Transformers 100 vs 105

I owned an X101, 100 and 105 and had them all at the same time. The 100 seemed to be the most aggressive followed by the x101. The 105 was the smoothest. They all were great sounding though. I ended up keeping the 2C+ with the 100 transformer since it wasn't simulclass. I prefer non simul over...

Is anyone using a Mesa 5 band EQ in your effects loop?

I use the 5 band in the loop, but all of my Mark series amps have onboard EQ. I use it to have fun and cut the mids more and add more bottom end. I don't do drastic cutting or boosting.

Current production STR 440 tubes opinions?

I'll add my 2 cents.... The 440's are ok. Kind of neutral in sound. I use them in my Strategy 400. I have always liked the 430's. To me they are a little brighter than the 440's and have more depth. The 420's are okay as well, kinda dark, but in a good way. I have some TAD's in my 2C+ and...

    Similar speaker to EV 12?

I have a pair of EV12L's and Delta Pro 12A's. I really like both speakers and if I had a 1/2 back cab, I would load the slightly darker Delta Pros up top and EV's sealed below. I'm wondering how the DP's would sound in a straight stiletto cab with 2 Vintage 30's up top and the DP's in the...

Mesa Mark III Red Stripe (Metallica tone)!

Nice. Just more proof dispelling the myth that they ran their boogies into Marshall JCM800 power sections.

    WTB: EVM 12L

I'm looking for an original EVM 12L in perfect working condition with no repairs, etc. I prefer Boogie label or regular blank back with stamped markings. USA only as shipping would be crazy expensive.

WTB pair of Mesa STR415 Red or yellow.

^ I hear what you are saying, but I think I have the same question as the OP. If I have a quad of matched tubes and say they are 32mA @450 volt. When I put them in a simul class Mark amp, the inner tubes read 32mA and the outer tubes read something like 58 mA. Clearly they are drawing...

Considering sending mk3 coli to Mesa. Costs? Options?

I had mine serviced last year and it cost $108 in parts, $150 service charge. The coliseum has lots of caps.

Mesa Mark III vs Mesa Mark III Coliseum

I've read around 300+. I don't know how true that is though  The coliseum is a great amp, but I wouldn't recommend it for the bedroom.

Have you compared Mark 3 Colisseum to Mark 3 Simul ?

I don't find the coliseum to be brighter than any other Mark series amp.

Pics of Pentode vs. Triode wiring?

It's gotta be this amp... Nice price. 8) I'm red/green color blind, so I can't tell the stripe. lol http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=161701523429

IIC+ Going In - Should I add the GEQ?

Just curious, you said in other posts that people at Boogie have said that using the Boogie EQ pedal in the loop is basically the same as the onboard EQ and several others have claimed the same thing (like your posts on Rig-Talk), so why would you spend the money getting the GEQ installed on an...
