    Speaker recommendations?? Halp!

Hi all, I have a mint vintage JC-50 all stock. It sounds a bit flat and would like to swap out the speaker. The stock speaker just sounds a little flat. Just not sure which speaker to buy. I am looking for a real super clean sparkly tone. At first I was thinking just replace it with a stock...

I think my Mark V FX loop is busted or ..well..odd..Halp!

Yeah I hope I don't have to bring a tech to look at it and leave it/spend money to fix and amp that is not even a year old. Here is some advice I am getting with the same post: http://bbs.espguitars.com/showthread.php?t=56155

I think my Mark V FX loop is busted or ..well..odd..Halp!

So i run just a boss superchorus and boss PS-5 in detune mode on CH1 with the FX on all the time for Channel 1. Was working fine up until my last band jam; last Sat. Now when I have it back home and run the two pedals, when ever I turn on the Super Chorus; it sounds like the tone when EMG's are...

ESP Viper with Sperzal tuners question

This. I read somewhere to stretch the string all the way.....the back the string back a fret or fret and a half..........then tighten. You for sure are not to over wrap them. See if that helps. But sounds like the nut is the issue.

    Roland JC-120H Head

Hey thanks for the feedback. Well right now I have two Diezel front loaded 4x12's. One at home and one at my vocalists house as he brings it to gigs and my SUV is packed enough and I can't be lugging a Diezel cab down 3 flights as it is two heavy. So that is why I converted to the Roadster cab...

Mesa Mark V vs Diezel Herbert

Forgot to mention. For a goof I put a TS-9 in front of the mark V and I just got a tone of feedback and too noisy. Just use the amps distortion IMO

Mesa Mark V vs Diezel Herbert

Having owned the Herbert, VH4 and VH4S; I can say the Herbert will have a bit more brootz. But the Mark V has plenty of heavy distortion; especially CH3 Extreme. Cleans are almost identical, squeaky clean if you are into that. I find the mark V to have a more punchy and focused overdrive. But of...

    finding a bad preamp tube

Well looks like V1 was the culprit for the Hissing. Kept all my stock preamps and just changed one to see and sure enough; no hiss the next day. Note to boogie. Please make it easier to change preamp tubes? removes the wood glued in after the front panel off or allow it to be screwed off. KThxBy

Damage Inc. (Tribute to Metallica) Rig!

LOL I know. I use the Detune setting, not the pitchshifting or whammy setting and I don't have it handy but simply to set the knobs that function in that mode to add a more luiquidy warbly effect to the bosss super chorus like how Jaymz' chorus effect you can clearly tell is not just the JC-120...

    Fretboard Care

I like the Dunlop kit with the fine fine sand paper for the frets and also I bought the Dunlop ultimate lemon oil product which is not in the kit; mainly as I have rosewood and as we know, can get pretty dry. I also, not for fret board care but for ease of play use some, Finger Ease spray. For...

    finding a bad preamp tube

LOL yup. I just opened it up. Saw the wood. The wood had 4 screws also and was like great....nope. Must be glued in as well **** they make those things tight in there. Well for now I swapped out V1 and tomorrow at jam will see how goes. Thanks.

    finding a bad preamp tube

Thanks man. I see four screws on the front grille. Perhaps that is comes off easily and allows easy access to the preamps tubes? Edit: Again, is their a visual way to tell if a preamp tube is bad as I mentioned like a light bulb? -me:Toob Noob

    finding a bad preamp tube

Hey guys, I know most of it is trial an error; but as i mentioned in a previous thread I am almost positive the hiss or squeal at loud volumes for band situations is due to a bad preamp; again since I first changed them all to begin with. Since the El 34's I put in block access to all the preamp...

Damage Inc. (Tribute to Metallica) Rig!

Sick rig man. Just an FYI. I put my JC-120H head away as my neighbors would kill me as it is way to loud. BUT I found if I use a Superchorus depth all the way and rate at like 1o'clock PLUS a Boss PS-5; I get very very close to his clean tone which I am of course obsessed with (ESPECIALLY with...
