Well I'm from Australia and 2 ch rectos are as rare as Hen's teeth, also here there are no places to get anything modded. I shouldn't of said "closer' to a 2 ch recto because i knew people would say just buy a 2 ch. I realise they are two different amps, just mean would they smooth out the tone...

I fuuly agree with this, I saw them when they came to Australia and they were using hired 3 ch dual rectifiers and their sound was amazing, it comes down to the playing. I reckon a recto will sound differnt depending on your mood, if I'm playing and I'm not really into it the tone will sound...

Hi there, just wondering if anyone could chime in with their thoughts about wheather or not EL34's in my 3 ch recto would help smooth out and tighten up the tone, i.e closer to a 2 channel recto. Thanks for any advice.

I agree, not enough to warant selling off the older one for this new model. At home I just pull tubes, not as simple as a flick of a switch but not that hard either.

If the 2 channel rectos are so much better than the current 3 channel versions why dont Mesa try to re create the original tone that "everyone' seem to prefer? Or is it an issue of those parts that made them so special no longer available? you would think as time goes on this should get better...

Yeah I have chnged the strings a few times, when I said new I have had it for nearly a year that I bought new. I think the graphite on the nut thing might work as the intonation is all good so it really leaves the nut. Thanks again Don

Cheers Don, yeah they are locking tuners with no trem. Yeah I have heard about the pinging thing, might put some graphite. Its a new guitar and everything is on right. How tight should I do up the screws on the machine heads? Cheers

Hi there, I have an ESP Viper with Sperzal tuners, sounds and feels great except the bloody thing goes out of tune all the time. I can tune it up and a little something and then it goes out of tune usually sharp. Any ideas what could be the problem? It is frustrating me. Thanks in advance

Thanks everyone for your input. Should there be a fair bit of a volume drop between Modern and Vintage? I find that i need to turn the master up around a quarter of a turn to match the modern mode. Is this about normal? Thanks again
