Volume pedal, 250K ohm or 25K ohm ?

I bought a volume pedal of 250K ohm which I put in the loop. Some people say to me that a 25K ohm would be needed. Is there a danger to my amplifier or someting else? The sound is very correct with 250K ohm (ErnieBall Jr).

I had the same exact issue, I called Ernie Ball and they said it would be ok, that is the most popular type they sell, for passive electronics. I run mine in the loop too. I have been gigging with it like that for months, perfect sound.
