Today just for fun I decide to transform my vertical 2x12" recto cab in an horizontal cab, just by leaning it on its side.....and made then a comparison to a standard horizontal 2x12" recto cab.....well....the vertical one sounds a lot bigger and fuller than the standard horizontal......moreover the vertical when leaned had lost all of its directionality, and diffuesed the sound with a great homogenity in all direction....

a great surprise indeed ;)

give it a try if you can

Well this is sort of obvious considering the vertical cab has a slant and was intended for the speakers to face upwards at ear level. Placing the cab vertically removes ear level contact with the cab and has one speaker facing one way and the other slightly to the right sort of cock-eyed. It is one reason I had to rid my horizontal 2x12 and strictly play with my 4x12 because, due to me being tall, I never heard the 2x12 well. Cabs can be very directional.
