So, I've been playing a DC-3 for years. Wanted to go to something smaller, maybe a 65 amps little elvis. Just had someone offer me an even trade for a rectoverb series 2 combo 1x12, 60 watts. No footswitch. I know it's kind of opposite what I was looking for, but seems like a steal... Im thinking the value alone makes it worth wild and I could get a few hundred more for that than my dc.
Any thoughts?
I know nothing about the the should I be looking for anything in particular on it before I trade?

i would say, go for it

if the Recto is not for you, you can always trade it for something else or sold it. Just make sure the Recto is in perfect working order!

Thats what i would do!

The Rectoverb isn't smaller..... it's quite a sizeable amp. Cabinet is oversize (rectangle) and the DC3 is a square cabinet. Amp also weighs a fair bit, Id' assume similar to the DC. Rectoverb is also 50W, not 60W.

As for what this amp is like and to maybe answer some questions you may have, read:

There's plenty more to read if you search.

I'm not familiar with the DC amps so I can't say if the trade will be good or not. I guess it depends what you like playing and what you expect from an amp.

There's not a great deal that can go wrong with these amps. I've had mine for about 3yrs or so and have had no issues. Just check the obvious... modes work, tubes glow nicely, pots aren't scratchy, sounds right and so on.

Thanks for the input. I do realize its bigger than my dc3, which is why I really would have no intention of keeping it. Just figured I could make a little more on the recto than my DC. The only way I can buy new gear is by selling something I already have. This could get me closer to my lil Elvis, which is a bit on the higher end of the price scale.
