Hi, here is my question : How to stop the fan of my new mark V 25w ?

this fan is way too loud for me because I play, for the most of the time, during the night at low volume !
Of course,I'll turn it on when i'll play at higher volume, to prevent the amp to blow or even to let the heat to dammage any part of the amp.

Ps: please try to be clear, maybe describe the process step by step because i'm not a native english and secondly it's my first mesa boogie !

Ps2: This amp is the best amp on the earth haha !!
Thank Mesa/Boogie for this awesome amp :) And thank YOU for your help ;)

No way except to mod the amp by putting a switch in and probably void the warranty. It would be dead easy to install a switch, though.

Easy to do but you may void the warranty:

Get one of these:

Find the two wires to the fan (usually black and red). The black would be the ground wire.

-Cut the red wire.
-Solder one end of the wire to one terminal on the switch
-Solder the other end of the wire to the other terminal of the switch

Switch fan on/off.

I'm not sure if popping will happen if switching the fan on/off while the volume is up, so best to check first at low volume. If it pops, switch the fan on/off when in standby.

You need to make sure the switch can be mounted somewhere on the chassis that you can get to. You may need to extend the original fan wire with more wire (obviously). You need enough wire to get from the fan to the switch and then from the switch back to the fan.

You can use different terminals or connectors to extend wire:

This little amp runs very hot. I would hesitate to disable the fan. There are replacement fans all over ebay. Find a quiet one.

Hi guys, thanks for your reply !

And, if I change this fan for an other one, which is quiet, would it stop the warranty ?

Thanks !
