Wow, you're right! :(

I was on there as recently as a month ago, and now it's gone. His little write-up of the Mark series history in general, and the Mark III stripes in particular, was pretty much gospel. Wonder what happened.

It was a great read!

In regards to why it's gone, I believe apple recently (last 2-3 days) closed down the remnants of mobile me, including the webhosting aspect of it.

edit: appears it went down July 1st.

Yes, it seems it's gone.
I was trying last week to access the Boogie Files and couldn't find it anymore.
What a pity!

It'll show up eventually on an archive and we'll be able to access it.

I've been able to get old PRS guitar info that way from their website back in the early 2000s

I was in touch with Ian about it a couple of weeks ago.
He says it'll be back up sooner or later.
It going down had something to do with Apple and iCloud screwing up his webpages/ website.

There's a partial archive on archive.org's Wayback Machine (love that name!)

http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://homepage.mac.com/mesaboogie/welcome.html

The April 13 version seems to be the most complete... the blue dot on that date if you've never used the Wayback Machine before.

Yeah I've seen that.
You can also use it for the boogie board too (and other websites).
When I tried it for the bb it was kinda funny to see many of my old posts that are now gone "still" there.

Ian told me he will email me when he gets his site back up.
If it has a new/ different URL I'll pass it on as well.

For those of you looking for the text only version of my boogiearchives site I did a few years ago, it can also be accessed the same way....

http://web.archive.org/web/20090122233101/http://www.theboogiearchives.com/

I always liked the history of the 2-Chan Rectos presented on the theboogiearchives. I like it much the same way as I like the discussion of the Mark III stripes that was on Ian's site.

It's a pity that both sites (with their pics) can't stay up forever with no costs or labor by their owners. Stupid real world...

Hi!

the process of becoming a Computer Scientist is wonderful and difficult. Been keeping my head down. Haven't been selling the guitars & amps for 14 months. been back in school for a year. 3.8 GPA since my grand return. (made calculus my *****, too) should graduate may 2014. at which point I shall transcend bullshit and get on with it ;) (and flaunt pictures of a TBA music room ;) )

i find myself foruming much less than I used to, for some reason or another. even let my TGP subscription expire! ;) the 5:50+ perked me up (may buy one for the church gig) and I've been floating around here a little more than recently.

burning out on music & guitar sucks err'body. don't let it happen to you!

hey, maybe even my signature makes more sense to everyone now. :p

good to hear-you are on the path to success, and there will be plenty of time for your "guitar renaissance"-I remember times when my guitar endeavors took the ol' back seat...they always find their way back
good luck and kick *** 8)
