I was messing around with mic positioning today and made a bunch of short clips. Here's one of them: http://www.itwontburn.com/Stiletto_Heavy_Test1NOFX.mp3 I was surprised at how much difference mic placement really makes. I need to learn more about it! There is a fuzzy overtone in the clip...

Anybody have their Stiletto modded for an adjustable bias? What do you think of it? I'm considering having it done.

I haven't but I wish Boogie and every other amp manufacturer would just follow suit with external bias points on their amplifiers. My Allen Accomplice has this (similar to Komet amps) and it's one of my favorite features on the amp. It only takes a couple of minutes to swap out tubes and bias...

Well... it's up on the chopping block again. Other than a few small (barely noticable) scuffs on the leather corner protectors the amp is in mint condition. I'm looking to sell the amp locally in San Francisco and if I decide otherwise I will update this post. Here's a review of the amp...

Well since we are only a hop, skip and a jump away from Petaluma we went up there for the Mesa Boogie factory tour for my birthday on Monday. It was pretty short... but it was pretty awesome to see all of those amplifiers and cabinets being made. I certainly wasn't expecting a small boutique...

Looks like a cool little tube amp. They seem to openly support modding it as well. What I'm wondering is how the hell did they put this thing together for 150 bucks? There is almost no reason not to pick one up and try it out.
