    Trident Question

Correct ! I wish I would have known this when I bought my stage I. It was advertised (in CL) as a stage II and I didn't do enough research on it to know the difference. Still got it for a great price and with a 10 band eq in the loop, I'm very happy with it.

full stack or half stack with mark v head???

I play thru a Rect 4x12 slant. I'm not in a band anymore. I have my stereo speakers at ear level while standing and when you get back to the sweet spot where the upper 12's in the cab are pointing at your ears, you can ge a pertty decent mix. I would like to get a 4 x 12 straight to put under it...

    Nut tuning systems

The basic setup worked out. Having one of the best in the Detroit area do it helped a great deal too. The Strat is now desirable to play. Before I had the setup done I installed a SD Invader (loud) pickup in the bridge and upgraded the tuners with Sperzel locking. Setup was icing on the cake. I...

    First Axe

Mine, is not so pretty. Some cheap-a$$ acoustic that my dad bought for me. I remember thinking that I could read music because I was in choir but all I was doing was following everyone else, by ear, I guess. Turns out, I couldn't read sheet music and that crap guitar made my fingers hurt so I...

    Nut tuning systems

Thanks for the response, lp. I did some digging yesterday on the SeymourDuncan forum, the same question and was told to use the search engine for the subject to find past discussions and, holy crap, lot's of good points and debates. One of the comments was almost spot on from yours about owning...

    Nut tuning systems

Sorry if this topic has been covered in the past, this is all new to me.... Buzz Feiten Tuning System Anyone here have any experience with this tuning system? It looks like a compensated nut tuning system like the Earvana (these are all new to me). I called a local guitar repair shop to get a...

Any Hollow/Semi-Hollow Body Players Out There?

Back in the early 80's I owned a Cherry Red ES-335 copy, no brand name on the headstock or anywhere else and I never broke it open to find a brand name. Used to play it thru a crappy old tube amp (forget the make). It played and sounded great for a copy. It's on the list of never should have...

    Prodigal Son Returns

Welcome back! Speaking of tax returns, I no longer have the dependants so they are much smaller these days. That's why I purchased my Mesa when I did. 8)

    Best swirly effect?

Just got done listening to the demo of this pedal on their website. Sounds pretty **** sweet and not much more than the Fulltone Mini DejaVibe.

    EQ for the Stiletto

I use an MXR 10 band EQ in the loop of my Stage 1, absolute necessity with the Stage 1 IMO. It sound boxey and cold without it. I'd like to hear a Stage 2 without an EQ in the loop.

    Trident ?

Is it a Stage 2 ? New? Used? If it's a new stage 2 you won't get a discount at the music store. If it's a used stage 1 I wouldn't pay more that 1G for it. Might even be able to find one for less if you look around. I'm not sure what the market price are for a used stage 2. EDIT: here's an...

What should I expect to pay for a used stiletto ace head

For reference, I've seen Stage II 100W Stiletto Deuce heads advertised for between 1000 and 1200 used. So for a 50 watter, VHT is on the money.

Thought some might find this amusing.

http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/msg/3103082616.html This gem looks and probably sounds just right for Jack White's collection.

    Rule-Of-Thumb For Changing Power Tubes

I play my ST mainly on the weekend, Friday and Saturday night for a combined total of maybe 5 hours. I've had the head for 3 years and the original owner told me that he just re-tubed it before I bought it (questionable). It's still going strong. An entire re-tube of a Trident would cost some...

    I think thats why I wrote "E" 440. Not to be confused with a Chrysler 440 V8.

I had my Fender Talon setup in standard "E"440 last year. It has a Floyd Rose locking system so tuning down took way too much time. When I want to tune down I do it on my strat that has a standard bridge setup, doesn't long to get it in. I've been learning some stuff of of Metallica Death...
