Factory org c+ long head, late production se nr 1399x EQ, reverbe .and ?

The seller had the orginal receipt wich says DRG has MB hand writing on it.

But the seller stated in the ad it was a none simul class, but since he diddent say enything about the DRG stamp and that he have sold no other guitar related things , he sounds like he really dont know to much about it.

The amp has the full/half power swich on the front and no simul sticker on the back.

What are my chances that its a simul class ? i think i read somwhere that not many org loaded long head c+ left boogie without the simul class option because the amp is bright in nature and those that wanted the loaded long heads diddent want to mis out of last upgrade wich diddent cost much more.

Should get it within 10 days , then il know for sure but the suspence is killing me

Hi there,

well, if the original receipt says DRG it should be a simul. But actually i know which amp you mean! I thought someone else from this board bought that amp. But okay! 8)

The Simul Class Sticker is...... well.... just a sticker. So maybe someone took it off and the seller doesn't know a lot about this amp. On the other hand the receipt could be a wrong one. But honestly i don't know how to change those receipts and why?

I think the chances are good! Telling the seller to put out the chassis and getting the right information on this, would make things a lot easier.

Anyway, nice amp! Keep us informed about this one and enjoy the new amp! 8)

Jep its the one that where on ebay reasonly ; )

The seller wouldent ship to denmark but had a god friend from this board bid for me, and i won.

I looked through the sellers past ebay offers and there where no guitar related ithems, the amp have been stored for 10 years and i think this amp is one of those rare amps that a person for reasons unknown left behind or sold cheap , and then this seller just bourgt it and sold it .
Basicly he have no clue wheter its a simul class, and unless the note is fake , it is a factory DRG.

The amp was first shiped to my friend in the states and everything is as described , we agreed that i should be the first on to fire it up and pull it out the chassi for closer inspection.
So its boxed up and on its way.

This is a amp i hold great pride in owning and will stay with me until the jack it out of my dead stiff hands

When i get it i will make a list with things to do , and hopefully you guys in here can asist me alittel , because I will restore it to have it came out in early 85.
Ah ok maybe il give it a bit more modern looking tolex, like the tolex the mark 5 has , because i think it looks better, but thats about it.

If it turns out not to be a simul class , i will track down a mark III with the same simul tranny as the mark C had and have mesa boogie upgarde it.

I have been following the c+ marked for many years now , and a late production nr factory c+ wide head can take forever to track down and buy , espicialy when you liv 400.000 kilometers from US.

thanks

I had my eyes on this beauty but wasn't sure about the Simul or 100/60W thing. But was interested in the ending price ^^.

I know of which friend you are talking, and he's really a great guy doing business with (that's what i can tell of him) :D

But anyway! Hopefully we are right! Without pulling the chassis out and knowing what to look for, you can't say if it's Simul or Not. Beside the Sticker which is missing! Not for me, and knowing that there's only a full hand of people here being specialist in "the guts", possibly not for the seller! 8)

Another great Amp becoming a part of the Forum Family!

Oh! And post pics of this beauty after you got it  .

Mesa infected can't get enough Mesa Pics! 8) 8) 8)

Greetings from the South!

btw Denmark-US <<<<< 400.000km  (but still too far away :( )

Il diffently post all the info and pics when i get this old girl in my arms, both when i get it and when the restoration is complete,

I can smell it all the way from denmark that he concluded its not a simul-class because it has the halft/full swich on the front , and more importanly, he dossent know that the long heads dont have a simul/class A swich on the back ,.
DRG is a language most dont understand :D

Jep not intirely correct but i might as well be the moon from where i sit  .

If its not a DRG , there are ways to making it one  , and this is a keeper so a littel extra work will only make that more mine.

Il keep you guys posted

Greetings from Denmark your long time allie.

Just to make sure, check the Output Transformer codes when you get it. A Simul OT would be labeled EIA-606-YWW/SC-152019B Where EIA606 stands for Schumacher Transformers, YWW stands for the year (1 digit) and week (two digits) of production, SC stands for Simul Class, and the rest is just the part #.

The Power Transformer should read, if it's a PT100, [100-162318], if it's a PT105, [105-162318], or if it's an Export, or X101, [X101-162318]

If you have a mirror and a flashlight, you can pull one of the outer power tubes to look for the resistor that connects to pins 5 and 8. It is the one that is visable through the hole in the middle of the tube socket. It is ONLY present in the Class-A sockets of the Simulclass power sections.

Glad to hear about your recent acquistion. I envy the fun your going to have with the amp when you first get it.

Since my amp is now just the way I want to to be, I'm out of that "christmas morning" kind of fun and I have been looking for a different thing to get so I can fuel up ( this would be a warning sign of a major gear habit guy ).

Well, I think I've found it. Over the weekend I mixed FOH for a country band who's guitar player used two Mesa Studio (22s) (the cane grills looked nice) and his rig sounded great on 50' wide stage. It sounded like a Boogie-ized Twin with much better sustain. Although my Studio 22+ w/ the extension thiele cab has much better bottom end - it doesn't have the ability to fill a stage like that. So, even though I very seldom play in a 4,000 seat venue. I'm definitly going to need another 22 or 22+ and another extension cab to rehab this winter. There is about six months of fun ahead.

I hope you enjoy your new amp.
