I read somewhere a guy who ran EL34s in a 50/50. Knowing british style valves have a higher current draw and have a different bias point I thought I'd stay with beam tetrodes to avoid modification.
Then I read the KT77 is basically an EL34 sounding beam pentode, the diff being the increased currentdraw for the heaters. Going with these wouldn't make any bias mod necessary, but would the transformer take the heater currentdraw?
At one point I thought I'd only use one channel and consequently lessen the over all strain on the transformer. What do you guys think?
Cheers!
