This amp is exactly what I was after. It has the tone and feel of a cranked amp at bedroom volumes and it has no business sounding so full and huge with 2 EL84's.

I only had a chance so far to record the room with my phone. The cab clone through my PA sounds like a mic'd cab for the most part. It needs a bit of eq to make it sound "alive" though to me at least. I'll see if I can get some clips to A/B.
In any case, this amp is an absolute home run for Mesa Boogie.
