My local dealer got a MK1 on a trade and called me to check it out. (I ask them to call me whenever they get any Mesa stuff) My first Mesa was a MK1 so many years ago. So I dutifully pulled a Les Paul off the rack, plugged straight in and............

What a beautiful tone! Like all MK amps, the bass has to be kept on the 2-4 level at most. Gain at 7 and 7 . This amp was wonderful. Will I buy it. Not at this point, but it sure brought back many wonderful memories. I remember covering Santana songs at Lincoln Park in LA in 1980 at 14 years old with a gold top that was so heavy, it caused a dent in my left clavicle that still shows today.... It is too bad that it is being discontinued.........
