Up for sale is my 1986 Tom Anderson Pro Am. This gem was made back when Tom Anderson Guitarworks really hit the scene in the mid eighties as one of the world’s premier guitar companies. In fact, this Pro Am has the rarer, more collectible ball headstock. You don’t find these often, and I’d venture to call this a vintage Anderson. It’s got a premium basswood body with a stunning champagne finish and 22 fret maple neck (jumbo frets) Simply put, it plays like a dream (it has that really slick, fast feel…if you’ve played the $25,000 EVH Frankenstrat, then you know what I mean). I measured the thickness of the neck, and it comes about to about 21.5mm at the first fret and 22.5mm at the twelfth fret, a perfect size (not too thin, not too thick). It also has an Original Floyd Rose bridge and locking nut for maximum tuning stability. The non-recessed trem cavity results in increased sustain and tonal transfer to the body. As far as electronics go, it features an early version of Tom Anderson’s Switcharoo system with active EMG pickups (81 humbucker in the bridge position, two single coils in the middle and neck position) with one volume and one tone control for several tonal variations. Condition-wise, the guitar is in player’s condition. The frets have a little wear, but not enough to affect playability. There are a few dings on the body (see pictures), but that’s because this guitar is such a great player, not meant to be hung on a wall forever! The guitar has recently been set up with D’addario 10s, and it comes with whammy bar, fresh pack of strings (D’addario 10s), an Allen wrench holder on the back of the headstock, and a hardshell case too. So here it all is again in condensed form:

Tom Anderson Pro Am (1986)

Body: American Basswood

Finish: Champagne

Neck: 1-piece Maple (22 jumbo frets)

Hardware: Original Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo System

Electronics: EMG 81 (bridge), two EMG Single Coils (middle and neck)

Don't miss out on this awesome player! I'm asking $1095 shipped.
