    Mark IIC+ channel switch issue

Thanks for your reply. Understood - any easy way to check this on my own? Otherwise I guess it means a trip to the amp tech...

    Mark IIC+ channel switch issue

Hey guys, Seems like there is an issue with my IIC+ (early DRGX) where it stays stuck on the clean channel, both when using the push/pull pot on the amp and the footswitch. The red light on the footswitch is very very faint when activated (tried with 2 different Mesa footswitches to make sure...

    Mark III+ blowing fuses

I had already tried that and the amp behaved in the same manner: got hotter and hotter until the fuse popped. The OT doesn't get nearly as hot as the PT but to be honest haven't looked at it too much as was focusing on the PT. I bought a 'brownbox' that allows you to fine tune the voltage...

    Mark III+ blowing fuses

Yeah agreed, is there any device I could use to control the voltage coming out of the transformer? What AC voltage would be ideal for an amp like this? Not sure if I should be running the Mark II using this transformer now, even if it's runs fine I'm worried it could damage the PT over time

    Mark III+ blowing fuses

Yeah I might have to do that, will try to to arrange something when I have some free time. Thanks for your help in any case!

    Mark III+ blowing fuses

So done some measurements last night: -Output of the transformer is 125V - 50Hz -All the resistors test very close to their value. One the 470 Ohms on the power tubes tests 505 but I wouldn't think that it's far enough to cause issues? I replaced all the the tubes with ones I know work...

    Mark III+ blowing fuses

Thanks for your reply and advice Yes I'm using 3A slow-blow (same ones as I use in other Mark amps). Agreed on the PT, it doesn't feel right that it gets that hot. I've been suspecting this is related to the blowing fuses as they blow only after a while and not directly when I switch the...

    Mark III+ blowing fuses

Hi all, Thanks in advance for your help on this as I've been trying to figure this out for a while. I have a Mk III that has been serviced (new caps) and modded to III+ specs by Mike B a few years ago (2016 I believe, was done by previous owner). While it sounds very good, I have had problems...

    How loud is loud?

I had a rockcrusher and it sounded like crap with my rectifiers and mark IV, got better results with the master volume. The recorded tones where good though but in the room it just killed all the feel and connection between the guitar player and the amp.

    Mesa headshell pricing

Thanks! I talked to him and I'm trying to decide which grill/color i will go for. I'm thinking about a regular black taurus with a wicker grill and leather handle. Mesa charges 350 + shipping for this. They also say I will need a new reverb tank (that they would pre-install in the head) for $40...

    Mesa headshell pricing

Thanks for the answers! I'll check out the Saxon cabs. Yeah I called mesa yesterday to have an idea, 380+shipping for a regular black tolex with a wicker grill... Pretty steep! Plus I will need some parts to make the reverb tank fir in the head. Do you know by any chance GTS's email adress or...

    Mesa headshell pricing

Hi! Is there a price sheet available for Mesa's custom headshells/cabinets with the prices of the different options? I recently bought a Mark IV rev. A rackmount that I want to convert into a head, I believe it will fit a small/compact head. Are there any good options other than Mesa for a...
