I found a 295 for $400 on craigslist, and I need a power amp for my recto pre. Has anyone tried this? How does it sound? I also want another power amp so I can run my recto pre and 50 cal together in stereo. Should I wait for a recto power amp instead of the 295?

Hi, I got a rectifier preamp a while ago, and I find it somewhat harsh, and fizzy, I want it to be thicker and darker than it is. I have all the original tubes in it right now (russians). If anyone has good experience with what tubes sound best in all the slots please share :D

What is the best spot on a recto cab people have found recording with a Sm57 or audix I5? I can usually get an okay tone out of my amp recorded, but It is not how I want it to sound on...

HI, I recently bought a recto preamp (for a great price) and Have it in a rack setup with my .50 caliber + and use the .50 cal as a power amp right now, and It sounds quite good. But It doesn't have the thump and punch of a 100 watt power amp. I was wondering if a recto preamp sounds good...

This is a great choice for the .50 cal + if you want an aggressive thick sound. I had 5 pairs of the STR 420's, and I tried them all in my amp, and I found that the Blue rated tubes sound the thickest and most aggressive out of Yellow, Gray, and red. The yellow rated 420's just sounded terrible...

I have a combo case from a 50 caliber +. its 17 inches wide, and it has a mesa boogie C90 in it. there are no rips in the tolex, the tolex is very clean. no rust on the silver corners. Its in mint condition. How much do these usually go for used, in mint condition?
