New Triaxis - PO's mod?

Post by Jonelli » Wed Jun 21, 2017 8:08 pm

So, I got one finally, it's an original version SN# T0449. There's a DC connector added just above the power cable. Does anybody know why they would have done that? Is this something that was common by some? I have already tested the unit on AC power and it works just fine. I'm just curious about the added DC connector and why they would have done that.

Pretty sure that's to plug in your MIDI footcontroller's power supply so you can phantom power it with a 7-pin cable.

Yep, that would be correct.

You plug the end of a 9V transformer into that and it sends signal down the middle pin of the midi in cable to power your midi controller remotely (see the middle pin?). This saves you running a walwart on the floor and to your midi controller.
