I needed an export for touring overseas and hopefully didnt want to pay $2000 plus. I started looking on craigslist in surrounding areas and opened add for a Mesa Mark IIB. The pictures were semi blurry but the red voltage switch jumped out at me. I started looking closer and all the signs were there for a IIC+! I contacted him trying to stay calm. He said we couldn't meet for a few days. I was asking do you have paypal? Can I put a deposit on it? He said you have my word its yours. So i waited weekend out knowing the sharks were gonna swoop in and grab it. Sure enough yesterday he contacts me and delivers a mint 60 watt export w graphic! It sounds glorious. It had 6V6 in it he said for 4 years? They sounded good but I put in some Sylvania STR387 at 44 ma and it rips.

Nice score, same thing ALMOST happened to me. CL ad for a markllc combo. I could see the serial # was 129xx , DRG with an EVM. $950.00 I called and missed it by an hour. Should of gotten up earlier that morn. Anyway Jason, glad to see you got what you wanted/needed. :D

Yes it was a fluke that it was exactly what i wanted when I needed it and mislabeled and local. All the cards were in place. Are there many export IIC+ in usa? I havent seen too many pop up.

Yes congrats.
Fwiw the "special-ness" of a C+ with an export tranny is associated with the Simul-Class versions.
Regardless, no doubt this one sounds great. Hey it's a C+ of course it does!!

Every IIC+ with export tranny is special. SRG and SRGX trannies are quite different in size and performance. SRGX tranny is much larger and sounds very close to IIC+ DRGX, especially when 4ohm output is used with STR415s.

I had both at the same time and my first choice was SRGX. Its a very, very special amp.

Not to get into a pissing match but most every discussion that's been posted about a IIC+ with the export tranny and their "special-ness" have been about the Simuls.
Regardless here's a very good/ cool thread worth reading about various OT's in C+'s (X101, 100 and 105) and their impact.
In fact the 60 watt mode of a 60/100 is discussed as well which in a way confirms that the 60 watters are special too.
