What speaker for RoV 25

Post by plan-x » Fri Mar 24, 2017 3:45 am

Got a Recto-verb 25 head and a couple of 1x12 cabs. Got a V30 in one, need a another speaker in the other cab which is a convertible open/closed back cab. Anyone have any experience with this?

I prefer V30s, but a G12M-25 (Greenback) sounds pretty cool if you want more old school tones at your disposal.

Also interesting is a G12T-75. The top end starts to get to me after awhile, but they have great chunk when palm muting.

But like I said, I prefer V30s. More percussive than the other two choices.
Ignore the hype and trust your ears. Play more, buy less = better tone.

I don't have separate cabinets but I paired a Celestion G12H30 with one of the original V30s in my Maverick, and it sounds much better now; they compliment each other well.
