Hi guys!
I bought a new Roadster about 2 ½ years ago I absolutely love it!
Since I bought the amp, I haven’t touch any preamp tube except the V1 (Tung Sol).
As long as powertubes are concerned, I think I changed the quad for Ruby’s the moment I purchased it, considering I loved the sound of those in my SR. I’m saying "I think" because I’m pretty sure I haven’t changed any tube in the amp for about 2 years! (I use it for about max 8 hours a week)
I’m posting today because I recently noticed a slight drop of volume mostly on the clean channel (channel 2), but also, my dirt tones (channel 4) seems slightly gainless. I play with a good cable, pretty much new, so I seriously doubt it would be the trouble here. I haven’t pluggued in directly into the amp so far, but since my pedalboard is likely to suck a bit of tone, I don’t think that would be a fair comparison.
So my question is, do you think the power tubes are the cause of this issue?
Thanks a lot!
