I have been loving my new Rev G, new to me anyway. The tubes look pretty old, the rectifier tubes are chard black. Amp sounds fine I'm just not sure if it can sound better I don't have a point of reference. What are you guys using? I do modern rock not metal. More like Alterbridge, AIC, NB etc... Not looking for anything harsh or to hard sounding. Kind of in the middle.

A tungsol in the v1 spot can cover any ground you need it to. Any decent 6L6 will work. I am a big fan of Electro Harmonix 6L6GC's. They are hands down my favorite 6L6. I would experiment with different preamp tubes in ghe rest of the spots until you tweak it to your liking. As for rectifiers, I prefer GZ34s and large bottle 5U4G's. I have some small bottle 5U4GB Electro Harmonix rectifiers, but they just don't feel as good as the other two.

I got new tubes from Laura the Valve Queen and in the second half of the video I switch out the tubes in the Triple.

That last mix sounds awesome! Your tube selections sounds great!
I use Svetlana EL34's in my Triple along with a EH 12AX7 in V1, Shugaung 12AX7B's in V2-V4 and a Gold pin JJ ECC83 in V5, very aggressive combo.
