TC-50 Norm Drive footswitch mod

Is there a way to modify the TC-50 so that the Norm Drive function of the Clean channel is footswitchable?

To start with, no schematics for this amp to be found publicly. And secondly, it would make a pop noise if not tied into the strobe mute circuit like the channel bus is. If it was midi controlled function that would be great but it is not.
