Parallel to Series conversions... alternative solutions?

I can see no reason, why there must be some cable always in the loop. It can be done so, that FX loop switching works and if there is no effect in use, the loop is bypassed internally (using a switching jack).

Strange that they wouldn't employ a switching jack for this mod. What could it cost? $3.00 plus 5 minutes to pop in the jack and solder it in?

Is there any sonic reason why they wouldn't use the correct jack?

PDad, according to the schematic diagram that can be found on the net, there is already a switching jack...you are right, it is strange.

i dont understand why the cant make it a switchable series effects loop... mixing consoles have switchable inserts which is the same thing as a series effects loop but you can turn it on or off! this is weird i think differnt techs can do it different ways maybe?
