my MkIV is A version and now on all preamp tube is Tungsol
it gives sound too much Low and High

do you recommend for mesa 12AX7 and 12AT7(for V5) preamp tube ?
what is it sounds gonna be ?

thanks

I have a Mark IV A and use a Tung-Sol RI JUST in the V1 position. I use a stock Mesa for V4 and Mullard RI for V5 and JJ's for the V2 and V3. Mesa tubes in the other slots would be fine as well. As I said before, you'd be happy keeping the Tung-Sol in just the V1.

thanks swbo101

due to i'm new for tube amp it may too complex for that combation but thanks for advise
for now i just thinking about the original tube for IV it might be good to hear an original sound first for new IV user like me (and the combination would be later when i know more !)

and another thing for now the treble is too much and irritating , is that normal for IV(A) ?
what do you guys think ?

:)

When this amp was voiced..back in the late 1980's early 1990's that was the norm. Just dial back the treble and presence. Also you can use the EQ to dial it back as well as not using the pull bright knobs.
