I bought a couple backup fuses - 2.5a for my single recto...

They are not slo-blo as the store did not have any slo-blo fuses so I just got normal ones.

Question - can I use these normal fuses rather than slo-blo? If so, what would be the effect of this?

Thanks guys
David

A slo-blo won't melt down during initial startup. A "normal" might.
If a "normal" doesn't blow on you upon start up, it could during heavy use.

I've bought fuses from Mesa before, because I had trouble finding the slo-blo type at Radio Shack in the right amperage.

Slightly more expensive from Mesa, but still cheap. They look to be exactly like any other generic kind, but at least they're the correct specification.

Michael Taylor at Mesa told me to only use 4A 250V for my Dual Rec... check your manual about the Single Rec.

edit: Just checked for you, get a 2.5A Slo-Blo.. personally I would pull out the fuse and check the voltage rating on it as well.

4 Amp Slo-Blo only. Any good auto parts store or Radio Shack has them.

Single Rec's need 2.5A according to the manual, Dual's take the 4A
