FT-Winfield Thomas Handwired Amp
I have a DRRI that is not a DRRI. I sent it up to Winnie Thomas of Winfield Amplification where it was completely gutted and hand wired into a 2 distinct channel amp. When running 6V6's , channel 1 is Tweed Deluxe all the way with channel 2 pure blackface. I run 6L6's which gives channel 1 and JTM-45 vibe and channel 2 an early Bassman tone. As expected, the 6L6's offer more headroom than the 6V6's. 6V6 and 6L6 yeild 22 and 30 Watts respectively. Speaker is a Hellatone 30.
The reverb circuit is intact, but the tremolo circuit was converted to a mid and presence knobs which are very effective in tone shaping. The cosmetic issues are the bottom amp corners are worn. Grill cloth and control panel are perfect. It is biased and running 6L6's currently and I will include the 6V6's as part of the trade. The 6L6's are Groove Tubes, 6V6's are JJ's.
I am specifically looking for an EL-84 based amp.
Send me your E-Mail address and I will send you some pictures. I would expect a 1 for 1 Trade as this is a custom built, hand wired amp. I have included links to both Winnie's site and his reviews on HC. BTW, the amp was tuned up by Winnie in May 2007.
